I love the name of this town. Gnisis. Gnice people too. Well, all except Manore Mobaner maybe. Sure has a thing for moaning to House Redoran about stuff. Problems with their Kwama mine making the miners sick. Not sick contagious sick but something to do with a noise that’s messing with their heads. Interesting.
Foreman Lathdar doesn’t seem to have much faith in House Redoran helping out, so I thought I’ll go have a look. Not sure how a sound can make you sick. According to Uncle Peaseberry the sound of Aunt Tangberry’s nagging gives him a headache but I think he’s the only one affected.
The mine does seem to be suffering somewhat. A few dead kwama and some miners humming a tune over and over and looking a bit edgy.
There is a weird sound, which sounds like it might be a tune. If I concentrate on it it’s actually not bad, needs some work and it could be quite catchy. Mmm mm mmm nope that’s not it – oh well!
Further into the mine, I found another Dunmer called Revus Demnevanni fiddling with a huge contraption from which all these noises are coming from. I thought he was deaf at first as he kept shouting at me but he’d actually stuffed his ears with something to protect against the noise. That is probably why he couldn’t replicate the sound echoing around the mine.
It took me a few goes altering the levers on the machine before the sound stopped. Unfortunately, it wasn’t in time to stop the kwama queen dying, so the foreman was not happy with Revus and that set Manore off on another rant about House Redoran and House Telvanni.
Once Revus removed the stuffing from his ears, he turned out to be quite a jolly fellow, compared to the other Dunmer I’ve met. He’s also an egg collector, which may help redeem him to Foreman Lathdar if he can find his kwama egg.
Ah! what fun it was hunting an egg. I let Revus carry it though as it looked rather heavy. He looked quite funny staggering under its weight and all I could see was his legs, haha.
Success! New kwama queen installed in the mine! You’d think Manore would be happy now it’s all over but no, he’s still moaning.
Made some new friends and learnt a few new drinking songs. Now how does that tune go again – mmmm mm mmm – nope that’s not it.
